India: import duty collected on motor vehicles and accessories

In fiscal year 2019, the import duty collected on motor vehicles and accessories across India amounted to around 192 billion Indian rupees, up from around 151 billion rupees in the previous year. That year, more than 80 percent of the tax revenue was generated from high speed diesel by the central government. Road tax across the country continued to stay above the goods and services tax.
