Fatality number of scheduled commercial flights India 2021

In 2021, there were no fatalities reported in India on account of commercial flights above 5.7 tons. However, in 2020, there were 21 fatalities.

These fatalities occurred on the Air India Express Flight 1344 from Dubai, UAE to Kozhikode, India, on 7th August 2020. The aircraft skidded off the end of the tabletop runway while landing and slid down a slope, killing 19 passengers and both pilots. The official inquiry stated the probable cause of the accident was "the non-adherence to standard operating procedures by the pilot flying", as well as poor weather conditions.
