Electricity production in Denmark 2021, by source
Renewable energy is the main source of electricity generation in Denmark. In 2021, more than 95 petajoules of renewable electricity were produced in the country, of which roughly 58 petajoules was generated from wind. Coal was the main fossil fuel used in Denmark, accounting for the generation of almost 16 petajoules of electricity that year.
