The most common reason for saving money among Swedes in 2018 was in order to keep it as a money reserve. This was especially the case for female respondents (50 percent), while 45 percent of the male respondents could say the same. During this year, the second most common reason for saving money was for pension (39 percent). Similarly, women was slightly more willing to save money in this regard.
