Ownership of MSMEs India FY 2016, by social group
The majority of micro, small and medium enterprises owners across India in financial year 2016 belonged to other backward class. In rural areas of the country, a majority of MSMEs were owned by socially backward groups such as scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and other backward class.
