Value of imported vehicles in Egypt 2014-2018
In 2018, the value of imported vehicles in Egypt stood at around 4.78 billion U.S. dollars. This represented an increase from approximately 3.14 billion U.S. dollars in the preceding year. From 2014 onwards, the value of imported vehicles in Egypt peaked at 6.27 billion U.S. dollars in 2015, and reached a trough in 2017. Furthermore, due to the abolishment of customs on European cars, the number of imported passenger cars came close to 50 percent of the total imported cars in the first half of 2019.
