According to a global report conducted between January 2020 and December 2022, TikTok had the highest engagement rate per post when compared to Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly known as Twitter). Overall, TikTok's average engagement rate per post was 4.25 percent in 2022. Instagram's engagement rate stood at 0.6 percent in 2022, and Facebook's stood at 0.15 percent.
