Russia had the highest outflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) among the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in 2021, at around 63.6 billion U.S. dollars. To compare, Kazakhstan's FDI outflow was close to 1.5 billion U.S. dollars, while Belarus recorded a negative figure, referring to disinvestment.
