A survey found that just nine percent of responding Gen Z adults in the United States in April 2023 felt that AI-written news would have a mostly positive effect on the news industry, half the share of millennials who felt the same. Millennials were the most optimistic about the potential impact of AI-written news, though were dubious about AI replacing humans as news reporters. Overall though, the majority of respondents, regardless of age, were skeptical about AI-written news and believed it would have a negative impact.
