In comparison, Riyadh welcomed 2.8 million inbound tourists, making it the second most visited city in the country that year. Tourist arrivals were calculated based on the primary destination, and not secondary cities visited throughout the trip, which would otherwise make Al-Madinah the second most popular tourist destination.
