Harmony with the room atmosphere was the most important factor when choosing new furniture among Japanese consumers who had experience as an owner of newly built detached houses. As revealed in a survey conducted in May 2022, around two in three respondents stated that it was essential whether a piece of furniture fit the room atmosphere. Personal preferences followed as the second most named factor influencing new furniture choices, with 52.6 percent of respondents.
