A total of 85 school children aged 16 years old or younger were killed or seriously injured while cycling to and from school in the year 2015. This is relatively low in comparison to the 511 casualties from children who walked, most likely due to low numbers of children cycling. It is interesting to note that 12 year olds were the most liable to sustain serious injuries or be killed when cycling to and from school in 2015.
