The number of payment cards issued in Spain amounted to 88.5 million in 2022. The development in the amount of payment cards issued onto the market in Spain showed a slightly declining trend between 2021 and 2022. Until then, the issuing of this sort of cards grew notably, increasing over 19 million in five years.
