Leading Windows malware strains 2018 Trojans remain the leading tool for cybercriminals to attack Windows systems. As of 2018, the most widely-distributed malware strain was Agent, a program which involves standard Trojans infecting an operating system. During the measured period, Agent accounted for 11.21 percent of all detections. Sivis ranked second with a 5.05 percent share.
