This statistic presents the ratio of total household debt in selected European countries against the GDP, as full size of economy, in 2016. In that year, the total household debt of Switzerland equaled 127.7 percent of the GDP of that country. Second in the ranking was Denmark, with total household debt amounting to 123.6 percent of GDP. Central and Eastern European countries held lower positions in the ranking, with Poland's total household debt equaling 36.8 percent of GDP of that country and Czech Republic's: 30.7 percent of the GDP value.
