Number of people injured in road accidents India 2020, by type of vehicle
In 2020, the number of people injured in road accidents across India due to the involvement of two-wheelers amounted to around 23 thousand. Each year, about three to five percent of the GDP of the country was invested in road accidents. About 70 percent of accidents involved young Indians. The country has about one percent of the global vehicle population but it accounted for six percent of the world's road traffic accidents.
