U.S. investors were not particularly enthusiastic about Bitcoin in 2018, with only two percent stating they owned one of these upcoming cryptocurrencies. No new survey was held since this time that asked the same question. Nevertheless, the situation was quite different by 2020 for consumers: According to a data comparison from Statista's Global Consumer Survey for 55 different countries, consumers from Africa and South America were increasingly interested in either owning or using a digital currency like Bitcoin.
