Non-EU Countries More Positive About the EU
60th Anniversary
The European Union started off as a coop between six European nations in 1951. Among them were France and Germany who after the horrors of two world wars agreed to cooperate in the two key industries of coal & steel. In 1957, the European Coal and Steel Community was extended by the signing of the Treaty of Rome and eventually became the EU we know today. Currently, the EU seems to have a slightly better image with non-EU citizens.
