Share of renewable energy in total electricity capacity in Tunisia 2011-2021
As of 2021, renewable energy constituted 6.7 percent of the total electricity capacity in Tunisia. The share of renewables increased compared to 2011, when it amounted to 2.8 percent. In the period examined, this share peaked in 2019 at 7.3 percent. Despite the great potential for renewable power generation in Tunisia, the country still lags behind in the energy transition.
