Distribution of registered dogs in South Korea 2021, by province
As of 2021, around 29.7 percent of registered dogs in South Korea were registered in Gyeonggi province. During that year, around 500.32 thousands dogs were newly registered in the entire country. While registrations were introduced in 2008, it became obligatory in 2014.
