Average length of stay at lodging establishments in Portugal 2021, by region
In 2021, the island of Madeira was the Portuguese region with the longest average length of stay by tourists in accommodation establishments, with 4.9 nights. The Southern region of Algarve had the second-longest average overnight stay. By contrast, tourists who traveled to the Central and Northern regions only stayed around 1.8 nights on average in lodging establishments.
