In 2023, the number of domestic same-day trips undertaken for business purposes in Japan amounted to around 25.64 million, the lowest number of the past decade. Following the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of travels in Japan declined, regardless of the trip's purpose, but especially for business trips.
