Inbound tourist flow growth in Russia 2020-2022
The number of inbound trips with tourism purposes in Russia increased by nearly 27 percent in the first half of 2022 compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The country's borders were closed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19 pandemic) in the spring of 2020. In the first six months of that year, the foreign tourist flow in the country fell by around 84 percent.
