Care home funding sources in the UK 2021
Most care homes across the United Kingdom were funded by local authorities or by private pay. In 2021, over 40 percent of care homes derived their income from local authorities, while 38 percent of care homes were funded by private-paying residents. On the other hand, 12 percent of care homes in the UK were funded by the NHS in 2021.
