In 2023, approximately a third of all chain store outlets in the food service industry in China were located in first-tier and new first-tier cities. The penetration rate of chain stores in the catering market in first- and new first-tier cities was higher than in lower-tier cities, but growth rates had been higher in lower-tier cities.
