Number of reported cases of tetanus in Ghana 2002-2020
In 2020, there were no reported cases of tetanus in Ghana, compared to the preceding year which recorded 20 total cases. Considering the period observed, the peak of tetanus infections was registered in 2016, at 1,214. Tetanus is an infectious disease caused by spores of the Clostridium tetani bacterium, and is most prevalent among babies and pregnant women.
