The overall manufacturing capacity of electrolyzers worldwide is forecast to grow steadily from 2022 to 2024, reaching in the latter year an estimated 53 gigawatts. In 2022, the overall estimated manufacturing capacity was 15 gigawatts, out of which five gigawatts were from BNEF project announcements. Electrolyzers are used to produce green hydrogen by passing electricity through a water molecule.
