Total biomass consumption in Ghana 2000-2021
In 2021, Ghana consumed around 3.2 million tons of oil equivalent of biomass, most of which were for residential use. According to the source, biomass is supplied in the form of charcoal, firewood, and sawdust, among others. Between 2000 and 2010, the consumption volume plummeted annually. However, from 2011 onwards, biomass consumed in the country generally increased.
