In 2021, 6.6 percent of Indonesian women had never attended school, compared to only 4.79 percent of Indonesian men. However, the proportion of young Indonesian women between seven and twenty years old who have never attended school are now lower than the proportion of young men. The school enrollment rate has risen steadily over the previous decade in Indonesia.
