In 2022, the number of farmers covered under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBJ) was over 15 million during the Kharif season in India. In comparison, about nine million farmers were covered under PMFBJ in the Rabi season. The PMFBJ is a government-funded crop insurance program that connects various stakeholders on a common platform.
