The European Union has been exporting an increasing number of services to the rest of the world over the past decade. The largest share of these exports for each year came from the 'ICT, media, computers, business and financial services' category.
Services exports took a hit in 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic reduced global demand for services, while also making many services which require in-person contact infeasible due to contact restrictions. Services exports rebounded in 2021, growing to 880 million euro, while still being below the pre-crisis trend.
