The annual volume of water that entered the public supply network in Italy decreased by around 350 million cubic meters between 2012 and 2022. By comparison, the actual amount of water used by consumers in Italy out of the total water inputs to the network decreased by over 0.5 billion cubic meters, accounting for a larger share of water lost to leaks from the water pipes of the Italian municipal network.
