This statistic shows the development of the consumer financial situation over the last twelve months in Ireland, from October 2020 to October 20201. The financial situation of consumers in Ireland was comparably low during the last few month of 2020 as well as the first month of 2021. While may 2021 saw an improvement of 1.7 percent of peoples financial situation, this had again taken a downturn and in October 2021 stands at minus one percent.

The purpose of the Eurostat consumer survey is twofold: first, to collect information on households' spending and saving intentions, and second, to assess their perception of the factors influencing these decisions. To this end, the questions are organized around four topics: the households' financial situation, the general economic situation, savings and intentions with regard to major purchases. The consumer survey is entirely qualitative.
