This statistic depicts the number of hospital admissions for a primary and secondary diagnosis of obesity in England, from 2002/03 to 2019/20, by gender. Since 2002 there was been a significant increase in the number of hospital admissions for obesity. In 2002 there were almost 30,000 hospital admissions for obesity, in 2019/20 there were over 365 thousand admissions of men and over 656 thousand admissions of women.
