Domestic expenditure on tourism in India 2008-2022
The domestic visitor spending across India in 2022 amounted to about 157 billion U.S. dollars. This was a significant increase compared to previous year after the onset of the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdown. Nevertheless, the south Asian country ranked fourth worldwide in terms of domestic travel and tourism expenditure that year.
