Argentinian automotive industry's added value to GDP 2017-2023
In 2020, like many other industries worldwide, the Argentine automotive manufacturing sector was severely hit by the social and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the second quarter of the year, the industry added just under 1.4 billion Argentine pesos to the country's gross domestic product (GDP), down from over four billion pesos a year earlier. Despite a recovery in the third and fourth quarters of 2020, the total 2020 added value of almost 11 billion pesos represented a year-on-year drop of 29.5 compared to 2019's total. By 2022, the sector had recovered, reaching an added value of some 5.6 billion Argentine pesos in the fourth quarter of 2022.
