Biodiesel exports from Malaysia 2012-2022
In 2022, it was forecasted that the total biodiesel exports in Malaysia would amount up to 410 million liters, mainly demanded by the European Union and China. In early 2018, the European Parliament (EP) voted to prohibit the palm oil usage in biofuels by 2020. Under the new decision, all palm oil products of the biodiesel industry exported to the EU have to be certified sustainable. Nevertheless, the demand in 2019 from the EU is still increasing.
