Cuba: economic losses due to forest fires 2013-2018

In 2018, direct and indirect damages due to forest fires in Cuba generated economic losses amounting to approximately 20.4 million Cuban pesos, down from 27.1 million pesos a year earlier. In the period between 2013 and 2018, Cuba registered a record area damaged by forest fires in 2015, at nearly 8.4 thousand hectares, which resulted in almost 35 million pesos worth of economic losses.
