Average public expense per student in CPGE in France 2000-2020
On average, the French state spent in 2020 the total of 15,730 euros per school year per student in Higher School Preparatory Classes. Since 2000, this amount has remained constant and has changed little until 2018.
Higher School Preparatory Classes (Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Ecoles) are post-baccalaureate and pre-studies that prepare students for the entrance exams to French Grandes Ecoles such as Sciences Po, les Mines, or Polytechniques. For two years, students will take intensive courses in either literature, science, or economics.
