Dominican Republic: payment methods for online shopping 2020
As of September 2020, approximately 62.5 percent of people in the Dominican Republic who participated in a survey stated that they had used physical credit, debit or prepaid card(s) to pay online purchases. Still, approximately 10.5 percent of Dominicans surveyed said they had shopped online using cash as means of payment. Moreover, nearly 34 percent of responding internet users in the Caribbean country indicated shopping more frequently since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
