Share of employment in Libya 2010-2019, by sector
In 2019, almost 60 percent of the working population in Libya was employed in the service sector. The industrial sector accounted for around 24 percent of employed people, while agricultural activities made up roughly 16 percent of the total employment in the country. Although the industry is the most important sector in Libya in terms of GDP contribution, it does not employ an extensive workforce.
