In January 2024, the United States was by far the country generating the most of YouTube in-app purchase revenues, with over 29 million U.S. dollars spent by users on the platform via their mobile devices. Japan followed in second place with approximately 19 million U.S. dollars in IAP revenues. YouTube monetization practices include channel merchandise selling, memberships, and comment highlights.
