International tourist arrivals in Croatia 2020-2021, by accommodation type
International tourists that visit Croatia mostly stay in private rooms, with over five million arrivals recorded in such accommodation in 2021. The number of tourists generally fell in 2020 due to the coronavirus outbreak, resulting in restrictions on travel, and hotels closing temporarily. A higher number of internationals stayed in campsites than hotels that year, at over 1.1 million compared to around 995 thousand in hotels and Aparthotels.
