Croatia: hotel bed-place occupancy rates 2022

In 2022, over a half of hotel bed-places in Croatia were occupied. That marked a nearly 13-percent increase compared to the previous year, when figures stood at around 43 percent. Over the observed period, the lowest occupancy rate was recorded in 2019, when only a quarter of bed-places in hotels nationwide were booked.

The source provide the following definition for the net occupancy of bed places: "The occupancy rate of bed places in reference period is obtained by dividing the total number of overnight stays by the number of the bed places on offer (excluding extra beds) and the number of days when the bed places are actually available for use (net of seasonal closures and other temporary closures for decoration, by police order, etc.). The result is multiplied by 100 to express the occupancy rate as a percentage."
