Book publishing revenue worldwide by country

A report measuring book revenue in selected markets in 2020 revealed that the United States was the leader in this regard, with books generating 25.7 billion U.S. dollars in revenue that year. Ranked second was China, followed by Germany which was the leading market in Europe. Germany's book revenue amounted to 9.3 billion U.S. dollars in 2020, more than the figures reported for France, Italy, and Spain combined.
