Tantalum: reserve volume worldwide 2010-2021

In 2020, the total global reserves of tantalum amounted to more than 140,000 metric tons.

Previously known as tantalium, tantalum is a rare transition metal that is hard, blue-gray in color, and lustrous. It is highly resistant to corrosion, which makes it invaluable for high-temperature applications such as in electrical devices and aircraft engines, as well as with handling corrosive chemicals.
