As of 2022, Ethiopia was the leading cereal producer in Africa, with it's output amounting to over 31.6 million metric tons. This was followed by Nigeria and Egypt with around 30.4 million and 24 million metric tons in production, respectively. On the other hand, Djibouti and Cabo Verde recorded the lowest levels of cereal production among the African countries.
