Casino and sports betting apps were also among the most targeted categories, with frauds targeting users of these apps reaching an estimated value of almost 1.2 billion U.S. dollars in the examined period. Mobile app frauds include cost-per-install (CPI) fraud, which tricks marketers into paying a premium for fraudulent or fake app installs.
