As of 2021, Egyptian fish production amounted to two million metric tons. This was a drop by almost 10,600 metric tons from around 2.01 million metric tons compared to the previous year. Over the observed period, the country's fish production increased yearly, except since 2020.
Moreover, fish cultivation was the primary source for fish production in the country.
