This statistic shows the share of vehicles exceeding the speed limit on motorways in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2014. The speed limit on UK motorways is 70 mph, except for cars towing and heavy goods vehicles. Almost half of all motorcycles, cars and light goods vehicles exceeded the speed limit when driving on motorways and 17 percent of motorcycles were travelling at 80 mph or faster, 10 mph over the speed limit.
